11 Feb Morna Retreats Loves.. LA PALOMA CAFE
Here at Morna Retreats, we are incredibly passionate about the beautiful island on which we live, love and work on. Therefore, each month we would like to introduce you to one of our favourite Ibiza spots, be it a dining destination, blissful bay, picturesque villa or a hidden yoga destination, we will divulge our island secrets to you.
And to begin, where better than one of absolute favourite places to indulge in some divine organic goodness, than the picture perfect setting of La Paloma Cafe. Hidden away in a luscious and lemon grove in the tiny village of San Lorenzo, you will find this haven of healthy eating, just a short drive from both of our stunning retreat venues in Ibiza. The gardens of the restaurant are full of fragrant trees and plants, with the fruitful trees offering shade for those who seek it, and the terrace offering warming winter sun. Take a glance further down from the natural children´s play area and you will see their own organic gardens, where the majority of the ingredients which go into their delightful dishes are grown and harvested by hand. The decor is charmingly mismatched with an eclectic collection of wrought iron chairs and table, wicker furniture, and their signature dove symbol (Paloma translates as ´dove´ in Spanish) evident throughout.
And now, to the food. Our tastebuds are watering as we write, the mere thought of the extensive range of fresh, fabulous food making us hungry already! La Paloma offer an idyllic menu which is simply perfect to nourish and nurture you after a yoga or pilates session at one of our bespoke retreat venues. Vegans will be in heaven here, with the plentiful options available. We adore the falafel salad and the homemade hummus, served with mouthwatering focaccia fresh from their inhouse bread ovens. The soba noodle salad with their secret recipe dressing is also a sure fire winner.
La Paloma Cafe has been serving wholesome, hearty and healthy dishes to island residents and visitors alike since 2008, and their completely unique blend of Italian and Israeli cuisines have resulted in a menu which continues to delight and inspire us, despite having hardly changed since their very first days. Very much a family affair, the dedication and commitment of the two families who run both the cafe and the evening restaurant is unquestionable, and it is their unwaveringly consistent ability to produce tasty and nourishing dishes, created with care and attention which makes this tiny cafe such an eternally popular place.
An ideal destination for groups joining yoga retreats, make this the year that you visit us at Morna Retreats, and discover this hidden gem, along with so much more that our beloved island has to offer..
Let’s create memories together.
